What's different about lawns in Lake Oswego
Lake Oswego is largely built out and mature — big trees, established landscaping, and lawns that have often been in place for decades. That maturity cuts both ways: the canopy that makes these neighborhoods beautiful also means heavier shade and leaf drop than almost anywhere else we work, and older turf that's had years to develop thatch and compaction.
Properties closer to the lake and along the sloped streets that lead down toward it deal with drainage in a way flatter neighborhoods don't — water moving downhill during our wet season can pool or wash out bare patches at the low end of a lot. We plan mowing height and aeration timing around both the shade and the slope, rather than treating every Lake Oswego property the same.
